Reflection on meeting

The chairman  opened the meeting at 08:30 a.m. with Hedley, Saleh & Hammam and talked about items on the agenda clearly. He successfully moved from one item to another. The subject of the meeting was about college live. We discussed the agenda and everyone came out with different ideas which will make the college life easier for students. All of us agreed that the college should set a certain date for family day or open day in the college. And the college should support the social life of students by providing trips to different countries in summer time and try to take them to social exhibitions in the UAE to learn a cultural diversity and adapt to social life. In contrast we came out with an important point which is adding a special program for weak students who are  facing problems in the study to help them. After that we discussed how to implement these points & give our recommendation to the ADMC administration so we have decided to define a meeting with the administration & students council to manage these points. Finally the chairman closed the meeting at 09:00 a.m.

Meeting Activity

1       Support the social life of students.

2       Change in ADMC policy.

3       Solutions for supporting student life.

Objectives:

This meeting is to look at what the college could provide to support students socially. We will discuss how to develop the solutions needed to make the students life easier between study and social life. We will also discuss how to implement this planned change and give our recommendations to the ADMC Administration. After that we will look at the timetable for this change.

The Meeting:

The chairman Mohamed Ahmed opened the meeting at 08:30
1. Support the social life of students.
Saleh said it is a good idea.
Hedley was interested in activity.
Hammam said that the college should provide an open day for students and teachers to do their own hobbies that day.
Mohamed said the ADMC should provide for students from different sections trips in summer time to different countries. Also he said the college should take the students to visit every social exhibition in the UAE & Hedley agreed with his idea.
Hammam said the administration sould organize a family day for students & teachers. Hedley said to him sometimes they did at weekends & Hammam told him if they do it in the middle of week with a dinner party would be better.
2. Change in ADMC policy.
Mohamed suggested adding a program for the weak students who are facing a problems in their study like giving them  special classes.
Saleh said that the administration sould accept  family reasons for the student if the student is absent from the lesson & missing any exam & try to help him.
3. Solution for supporting student life.
Mohamed said that the college should set a certain date for a family day & open day. Also Hammam said the college should locate a small land for the kid's park project to let the children play on family day.Then Saleh said the ADMC should survey about the weak students by consideration of their GPA is below 2 or 1.5 & give him special programs.
4. Plan for the action.
At the end of the meeting the chairman Mohamed said we will have a meeting with the administration & the students council to discuss these points and manage them. Then Saleh said we are going to start with these points next year.

Reflection

Interviewee: Mohd Abdulla

Interviewers: Hedley, Abdulaziz Faez & Omar

Position: Mechanical Engineer



Frist of all Mr. Hedley welcomed the interviewee, thanked him for attending & introduced Mohd Abdulla & Omar.

Abdulaziz was invited to talk about himself & he did so, citing age, date & place of birth etc.

Mohd Abdulla asked him what qualifications he had & he said GPA 3.5. Where did he see himself in 3 years?
To reach a prestigious position in the marketing field.





In addition Omar asked him if he'd heard anything negative about the company & Abdulaziz said the only thing was its location far from the city. Asked why he wanted to work for this company, he said it was because it was a local firm. With regard to salary, he said it was of secondary importance. Strengths? Well qualified, hard-working.

Finally, Abdulaziz asked what his responsibilities would be. Mohd told him working with machines. He then asked about opportunities for advancement & Omar said it would depend on attendance, work performance & supervisors' reports.

Hedley thanked Abdulaziz & closed the interview at 0830.

Interviewee: Saleh Mohd
Interviewers: Hedley, Ahmed, Mohd Abdulla
Position: Sales Representative at ADNOC


The interview was on Sunday 6th February, in the Independent Research Centre.
Mr. Hedley asked
Saleh to introduce himself to the interviewers. Saleh saying he had a bachelor's degree from HCT in marketing, with a GPA of 3.85. He'd graduated with merit.
Ahmed asked Saleh about his favorite hobbies outside? He said I play football with friends at weekends; in addition animal welfare.





Mohd Abdulla: can you work nights & weekends? He said I need to relax at weekends. Why ADNOC? Because it's a respectable company.





Strengths? He said commitment & passion. Also, I had to do lots of projects in a short time at HCT.





Saleh asked if the company had a trainee programme. Mohd said there is a 6-month trainee programme.
Mr Hedley closed the interview at 9:00.

Interviewee: Saleh Awadh





Interviewers: Hedley, Ahmed Saleh , Mohd Abdulla





Position: Section head in oil operation with ADNOC








On Sunday 26th February 2012, and at the independent research center. Ahmed asked Saleh to introduce himself and Saleh gave a good introduction about himself: he is 28 years of age and states that he basically can handle any kind of operations, emphasizing his experience and flexibility. Ahmed asked for how long have you been at work? Saleh said 10 years in oil operations. And about the last position Saleh said that he was a supervisor in the oil operation sector. Ahmed asked why Saleh wanted this job exactly at this company; Saleh said because of the new callenges for him.





Mohamed started his questions by asking about the greatest strength Saleh said that he is a great motivator and amazing problem solver. And about the greatest weakness, Saleh said he have been told occasionally he is focusing on small details which may affect the bigger picture so he has been spending time to laying out his complete project every day to see his overall progress . Saleh thinks the interviewers should hire him because of his ability and his experience.





At the end, Saleh asked when he will start working. And Ahmed answered about 1-2 months and how long has the position been open? Ahmed answered 1 month.

Interviewee: Youssef











Interviewers: Hedley, Ahmed Saleh , Mohd Abdulla











Position: Manager of operations in one of the ADNOC companies (Borouge).

















On Sunday 26th February 2012 at the independent research center, Mr. Hedley began the interview by asking Youssef to introduce himself. Youssef gave the interviewers a good introduction about himself and his work experience. Straightly, Ahmed asked Youssef about his greatest strength and weakness Youssef said his strength was that he likes challenges and he has got a lot of leadership skills, In contrast he said his weakness was that he does not like to work with careless or lazy people.











After that Mohamed asked Youssef why should I hire you? Youssef said because of my rich experience and my abilities to do this job Youssef highlighted that he was a supervisor and he used to build teams and improve the employees.











Finally Youssef asked who would I work with directly Ahmed answered that Youssef will be working with him.











Mr. Hedley ended the interview at 09:30 and told Youssef that they will call him in about 1 week.
